Early this school year we spent one of our block periods outside in the garden.  Students took turns doing different tasks.  While one group helped harvest and work in the garden, another group worked on reviewing math skills. Students also took turns completing a soil investigation lab.Soil Observation Lab

Besides learning about different types of soil we also discovered a few interesting things (look for evidence of them in the pictures below!).

#1. Carrot seeds dropped in wood chips will still grow.

#2. My class likes trying new things….like hot peppers and garlic….raw!
